
Sayle Oil Company's Risk Management Department focuses on all aspects of the company's business insurance coverage, safety program, and compliance/regulatory standards.
Our Risk Manager develops and administers risk-management and loss-prevention programs in accordance with safety legislation and industry practices, implements programs and procedures to reduce the frequency and severity of losses in the areas of workers' compensation, general and auto liability, and property claims. Performs regular physical inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and operations, identifies hazards and incidents of regulatory non-compliance, and recommends corrective measures, conducts claims investigations and evaluates claims information to identify significant safety hazards and loss trends.
Delegates various company programs to location management and oversees the progress of each one on a continual basis. Researches and reports on the most cost effective plans to minimize asset liability and maximize employee/customer safety, and acts as a liaison to insurance companies, attorneys and individuals, investigating any incident that may result in asset loss or employee/customer risk.
Risk Management insures compliance with Department of Environmental Quality rules and regulations, Environmental Protection Agency mandated laws, State and Federal Department of Transportation laws, HazMat rules & regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration laws, National Fire Protection Agency regulations, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure regulations, and National Propane Gas Association regulations, while relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish long-term goals.
Sayle Oil Company's Risk Management Department works with each company division to provide ongoing safety and loss prevention training to aid in reducing the severity of accidental incidents. While demonstrating management commitment by instilling accountability for safety and health throughout the workplace, and by conducting regular safety and health meetings involving employees, managers and supervisors, the Risk Management Department also recognizes employees for safe and healthful work practices.
